Can I install my own Ready Made Shade Sails? Yes. It is a two person job, but Ready Made Sails are designed for the Do-It-Yourselfer. Shade Sails of Florida provides detailed instructions with every order. Will Shade Sails of Florida install my Ready Made Sails? No. Ready Made Shade Sails are designed for the Do-It-Yourselfer or the homeowner with a trusted handyman. Shade Sails of Florida will only install Custom Commercial Shade Sails. Are Shade Sails impervious to water? No. Shade Sails are made from a high density polyethylene fabric. A light rain may roll off, but a heavy down pour will come through the Shade Sail. The open weave allows for hot air to rise and escape through the Shade Sail. Are the UVA, UVB and Shade Blocking the same with all colors? No. The amount of protection from the UVA and UVB rays and the shade factor does vary with color, yet only slightly. Most Shade Sail colors (including our most popular colors) block between 90% - 96% of the UV rays. Do Shade Sails Require a lot of maintenance? No. Shade Sails should be cleaned annually with a garden hose. Turnbuckles should be checked for proper tension and tightened when necessary.
